POSITION: .Net Engineer

Location: Seattle, WA

12 month contract


Summary of Responsibilities:

· Production support for the existing AWS-based, .Net Checkout suite of applications

· Bug fixes and enhancements to existing Checkout suite of applications

· Maintenance, updates of documentation and code that supports the existing Checkout suite of applications

· Enhancements to existing Checkout suite of applications

· Optimization and split of legacy code for ease of modernization

· Support for PCI documentation and audits

· Improvement of instrumentation and monitoring solutions


Detailed Responsibilities:

· Production Support - Provide Tier 1 (first person contacted) on call support

o    Acknowledge & Resolve Production Incidents

o    Respond to all alerts as required

o    Escalate issues to appropriate owners

o    Do quick code fix or data fix as required to resolve issues

o    Perform log analysis when job failures occur in production systems

o    Proactive monitoring of applications supported

o    Resolve issues in case of job failures

· Maintenance & Break/Fix Work

o    Make code fixes and updates to resolve defects and remove technical debt

o    Pipeline maintenance and improvements

o    Server patching

o    Dashboard creation & updates

o    Certificate updates

o    Conduct defect root cause analysis

· Feature Enhancements

o    Delivering according to prioritized team backlog

o    Work with PM to properly prioritize and size backlog

o    Participate in Requirements generating and planning sessions

o    Optimization and split of legacy code for ease of modernization

· General activities

o    Participate in Scrum ceremonies (grooming, sprint planning, stand ups, demos, retros, confidence votes, etc.)

o    Keep work up to date and visible in JIRA

o    Create stories, tasks, incidents as needed for new issues or to break work down.

o    Individual and group review of deliverables

o    Create and maintain documentation as directed

o    Clarify requirements with engineers, product managers, program managers and leadership

o    Create High level design

o    Call out release dependencies and risks

o    Development of scripts for jobs and components

o    Unit test of developed scripts and components

o    Participate in code reviews

o    Create, execute, and design tests to meet acceptance criteria

o    Implement code quality best practices and standards

o    Coordinate with teams to resolve permissions issues

o    Create Build and Deployment automation scripts

o    Automated Smoke and Regression testing


Technologies and Tools:

· Key Technologies and Tools

o    C#, .Net, PowerShell, IIS, Visual Studio, SQL Server

o    JavaScript, CSS, Angular JS

o    Windows Stack running in AWS (examples of services currently in use: EC2, CFT, ASG, ELB, AD integration, Cloudwatch, Lambda)

o    Control-M

o    Git (TFS a plus)

o    Thoughtworks Go (Jenkins a plus)

o    Splunk, Datadog, ElasticSearch, Grafana, Kibana, Sousta

o    JIRA & Confluence

o    PagerDuty

o    Slack

o    ServiceNow

· “Plus” Skills – nice to have

o    Linux (any flavor), Bash, Python

o    Akamai a plus

o    Terraform, Ansible, Docker experience a plus

o    Packer

o    Ruby/Rake
